A well-constructed suit depends on the relationship between its outer fabric and internal support. While the fashion fabric determines much of the visible appearance, woven interlining can contribute to the shape and stability of the finished garment. It is particularly useful across larger sections where the fabric needs additional body without relying entirely on stitching or construction techniques.
Unlike non-woven materials, woven interlining is produced using yarns arranged in warp and weft directions. This construction provides structural stability and useful tensile and tear strength. For suit and blazer production, the material can be selected according to the required level of support. Double Ghoda offers woven fusible interlining from 30 to 150 GSM, allowing manufacturers to compare different weights for different garment requirements.
The fusing process is equally important. The adhesive-coated side is positioned against the wrong side of the fashion fabric before heat and pressure are applied. Double Ghoda's woven range uses PA double-dot adhesive coating, with recommended fusing conditions of approximately 125–145°C for 18–25 seconds at 1.5–2.5 kg/cm² pressure. These figures provide a starting point, but manufacturers should test the actual fabric combination before beginning full production.
Choosing woven fusible interlining for suits should therefore involve both material selection and production testing. A grade that works well with one fashion fabric may produce a different handle with another. Manufacturers should consider fabric weight, desired structure, garment design and the equipment used for fusing. By documenting the selected woven interlining specification after testing, production teams can maintain greater consistency across repeat orders and reduce the risk of changing the finished appearance unintentionally.
